The Backyard School

Have you ever wished you could give your child an old fashioned childhood? The kind they'll look back on and reminisce  about "the good ol' days?" Childhood isn't a race. It isn't a checklist. It's a few short years that we only get once. Here at The Backyard School, which is quite literally in my backyard, we spend our days playing. We dig for worms, we get muddy, we build forts, and we play in the sandbox. Here's the best part: We don't feel guilty about it at all. 

Worried about academics? For starters, you shouldn't be. But, if you are, let me say this- I'm not afraid of academics! Sure, we play outside most of the day, and your child could stay on the same swing for an hour, but we also do daily journals, circle time, and explore thematic units. In fact, don't be surprised if your child comes home telling you the characteristics of an insect, who Frida Kahlo is, or even what the word subitize means. We read, write, and count. We just don't stress about it all day!

8 Students, age 2-5

(The 2024-2025 school year is an age 3-5 year! This gives space for more thematic units, field trips, and literacy integration).

Tuition $550/month

(Small need-base reductions may be available) 

$100/m add on for each day extended to 4pm. Max 2 days.
